In the beginning

Well, this is my first boat project, a Paper Jet 14 skiff designed by Dudley Dix.

I have ordered the kit from Third Cost Composites and am now waiting for the plans and the kit to arrive! I also ordered the complete epoxy kit directly from Dudley - in theory it should provide everything needed to finish the boat (fiberglass, epoxy, etc)

My motivations for building the boat are as follows:

I regret selling my Laser when I bought my current sailboat (A West Wight Potter 15) and I miss having a "wet" boat for the warm summer months.

I also want to use this as a test run to potentially building a bigger (18' - 21') boat in the future - I figure this would be a good introduction!

So for now I am waiting for the plans, parts, and epoxy to arrive - should be here in two weeks!
